It's getting tough to differentiate between bands like this- the practitioners of the thrown-down, block-off choogling effect. This group's definitely a solid entry in that category, with the barking vocals and pile driver heaviness mincing all over this EP in a highly 16-styled manner. There's a passable ground-zero, percussion web culled from the overall heft of the vocals, guitar, bass, and drums, and if you're going to be cowed by tough-guy thunderclap, you could do worse.

Holy shit. Extremely thick hardcore from the backwoods of Minnesota. This 7" is amazing. Who cares if my copy is a piece of crap? This isn't one of those chug-chug, verse, chorus, verse bands. This is more like a simmering kettle, about to boil over and it does. Today on my way to class I was listening to this and I was wondering, how did the guitarists go about buying their guitars? By this I mean, did they go into the store and say, "I want a guitar that sounds like it's trapped in Satan's ass, but I want it to sound cool as fuck at the same time." Is that how it happened? Anyway, this 7" is a must. My only complaint is that I wish the recording were a little bit better. Get this.

Rational Inquirer

There's always a good chance that if it's on Trustkill, it'll be good. Harvest have a heavy as fuck feel to them. Never really moving faster than a gallop. Harvest rallies more on small tempo changes and melody. I can't wait to hear more from this band.

Whoa! A fold out cover 7". I don't believe I have one of these in my entire collection. Anyway, Harvest serve up some chigga-chigga hardcore that seems to be quite dominant these days. Vocalist Dave sounds a bit like Mr. Dwid from Integrity and Sean from Coalesce. What's up with these two song 7"s? Can't we squeeze another song or two on these? There are so many bands doing this style that I can't tell who the fuck is who, but Harvest may be among the top half of that heap. I dug the track "Auburn", very Bloodlet. Need to hear more guys.

Two thick and juicy slabs of hardcore beef, complete with all the gruff trimmings. On the good side of metallic hardcore, continually raw vocals with slower string chunks and piercing snare.

These people are not happy campers. Hailing from the icy tundra of Minneapolis, Harvest have made improving on Bloodlet's painfest a new occupation. This 7" is essential for the "scary" hardcore set. Invite vocalist Dave Walker over for cocktails and impress your friends.

Second Nature

Leaning away from the melodic nature of their previous releases, Harvest will blow you away with these two powerful and heavy songs. Very harsh, great vocal work on top of guitars that are tuned way down making for a really dark feel. Packaging gets an A+ as well. Can't wait for the album.

Muddle

Hardcore from Minnesota. I've heard great things about this band and this seven inch certainly delivered. The layout of the seven inch itself is really good. These two songs rock out but are kinda long. But that's a good thing.

Very

This Minneapolis band blew me away when I saw them. Think a hard, pounding groove ala Snapcase, but with sick, tortured vocals much like Bloodlet. Really heavy and extremely tight. Evilcore and groove kids won't wanna miss.

Spank

Beautiful sleeve design that masks the dark fury of the hardcore seething within. "Waterfall" has an amazing chorus that shakes up the song's overall brutality. There's a great rhythmic break-up in "Auburn" creating and almost Melvins-like grind. Also a little like Bloodlet, with their slow-moving massive, almost evil, heaviness.

Anxiety Closet

I saw these guys play once and they knocked me on my ass, and they do the same here. They get compared to Bloodlet a lot, and there's a good reason for that - they sound a whole lot like Bloodlet. It has the same chunky to driving guitar style, but a little less metal. The vocals are the same desperate, strained sound. A nice gatefold cover, and some very, dark, heavy, and angry music make this one hell of a record.

This is more like it! They have a ton better sound on this and have changed their style to a little on the heavier side. Blows their other record out of the water. Back on the good list.

Dogprint

Two songs on this new Harvest record, proving that they are one of the heaviest bands around. Personal, abstract lyrics with very deep guttural vocals. Somehow they've changed their sound from their previous release, making it heavier, not far from Earth Crisis or Canon. Very good.
